From June 27th to September 1st Locus festival, emblem of a Puglia opening itself to the word and recalling a wide range of sounds from the world, comes back.From the gazzling white of trulli’s quicklime to the rosy crystal clear color of Trani’s stone, from the transparent blu of Adriatic and Ionian Sea waves to the green countryside of fluorishing Valle d’Itria: between the thousands of colors of Puglia are resounding all shades of a festival that represents excellence in the italian summer season.

Fot its XIX edition, the festival started in Locorotondo (BA) in the heart of Valle d’Itria,
chooses the theme “Music of many colours”, taking inspiration from the of seminal 1980 album of afrobeat progenitor Fela Kuti and acid-jazz godfather Roy Ayers. A definition chosen not only to pay homage to the roots of jazz and black music, but also to reiterate the artistc variety that distinguish every festival edition. A variety of sounds without borders, united by the costanct research and dialogue.

Locus sonic journey will take place in various exclusive locations. With the festival’s heart remaining in the streets and masserias of Locorotondo, historical headquarter and driving force, the special events that will be opening and closing the festival will touch other gorgeous locations of the region: the square in front of the astonishing Trani’s cathedral, queen of the romanic churches in Puglia; the unique Bari promenade and its harbour with the Borbonico Lighthouse; the center squar of the old town of Fasano, along the Trulli’s coast.

This years’ lineup has both italian and international groundbreaking artists that has written significant pages of history for worldwide music such as Herbie Hancock, Robert Plant con il progetto Saving Grace, Roy Ayers (exclusive italian show), Sigur Rós, Simply Red, Jeff Mills, Sun Ra Arkestra, a cui si aggiungono Seun Kuti  insieme a Egypt 80, The Comet is Coming, Ezra Collective, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Fatoumata Diawara, Lady Blackbird, Louie Vega, Makaya McCraven, 2 Many DJs, Ada Oda, Catu Diosis, Louis Baker, Wu -Lu, Congo Natty, e gli italiani Baustelle, Verdena, Bud Spencer Blues Explosion, Gianluca Petrella e Cosmic Renaissance, LA NIÑA, Ninos Du Brasil, Tonico 70 e Banda Maje.
